Our exclusive travel programme

DAY 1: ARRIVAL - REYKJAVIK

After the plane has landed safely in Keflavik, we are met at the airport and taken to our accommodation in Iceland's capital, Reykjavik. The evening is then at leisure. Overnight stay in Reykjavik.

DAY 2: HVALFJÖRDUR - BARNAFOSS

200 km

In the morning we have time for a short walk in Reykjavik, then we take over the motorbikes and start our round trip across the world's largest volcanic island around noon. To the north, our route first takes us through the "Whale Fjord" towards Borgarnes. On the way we marvel at the impressive waterfalls Hraunfossar (lava waterfalls) and Barnafoss (children's waterfall). These are spring waters that fall in countless cascades into the Hvita River along a 700 m long stretch. The journey then continues to the Deildartunguhver hot spring. Around 16 million litres of boiling water flow from the 100°C hot spring every day. In the evening we reach our overnight destination for the next 2 nights: Borgarnes.

DAY 3: DAY TOUR SNAEFELLSNES

300 km

Today we take a day trip to the Snaefellsnes peninsula. It lies to the west of Borgarfjördur, one of the most remote fjords in Iceland. The sparsely populated peninsula offers a natural spectacle that is second to none and is often referred to as "Iceland in miniature", because here you can find all the charms of the big island in a very small area. Second overnight stay in Borgarnes.

DAY 4: SKAGAFJÖRDUR

200 km

Continue north on the ring road through the Nordurardalur valley and across the Holtavörduheidi plateau. We head into the Skagafjördur district, which is known for its horse breeding and is also called the "cradle of Icelandic horses". In the evening we reach our hotel in Skagafjördur.

DAY 5: HÓLAR- SIGLUFJÖRDUR - DALVIK 2

20 km

The first stage of the day takes us to Hólar, which is one of the most historic places in Iceland. For many centuries it was a bishop's see and also the capital of North Iceland. Hólar Cathedral was built in 1763, making it the oldest stone church on the island. We then come to Siglufjördur, the northernmost town on the Icelandic mainland. Since the 1950s, the town has been known as the herring capital of the North Atlantic. Passing Dalvík, a small coastal town in the middle of a natural paradise, we reach our overnight destination for the next two nights: Akureyri.

DAY 6: AKUREYRI REST DAY

Today we have a relaxing day off. We stroll through Akureyri, the "metropolis of the north" and as a special highlight we go on a whale watching tour on the Eyjafjord, the longest fjord in Iceland.

DAY 7: MYVATN - DIMMUBORGIR

80 km

The absolute highlight of the day on this stage is our excursion to what is probably Iceland's most popular region, the Mývatn area. On the way there, we enjoy an impressive view of the "waterfall of the gods", Godafoss. It owes its name to the Goden (Icelandic chieftain) who announced Christianity as the state religion at the Thing in the year 1,000. The region around Lake Mosquito is Iceland's largest nature reserve. We marvel at outstanding natural attractions such as the "Dark Castles" Dimmuborgir, bizarre lava formations around 2 km from the lake, and the pseudo-crater of Skútustadir.

DAY 8: DETTIFOSS - MÖDRADALUR- EGILSSTADIR

260 km

We start off in a north-easterly direction. The volcano Krafla (eruption 1975 to 1984) is a scenic experience without equal. Weather permitting, the huge waterfall Dettifoss can be visited in the north of the Vatnajökull National Park. On the onward journey we leave civilisation and cross the wasteland of Mödrudalur. Towards evening we reach Egilsstadir. The town (2,300 inhabitants) is considered the centre of the East.

DAY 9: EAST FJORDS- HÖFN

250 km

The route takes us further along the rugged coast of the East Fjords. Small fishing villages and steep mountains close to the road by the sea are very impressive. Overnight stay in Höfn.

DAY 10: JÖKULSARLON - FJELLSARLON - SKAFTAFELL

200 km

First we reach the unique glacier lagoon Jökulsárlón. During a boat trip we have the opportunity to see floating icebergs up close. Skaftafell National Park is overlooked by Iceland's highest peak, Hvannadalshnjúkur (2,110 m). Via the uninhabited sand desert Skeidarársandur, south of Vatnajökull, we continue to Kirkjubæjarklaustur. The small town was named after a medieval monastery.

DAY 11: VÍK- DYRHÓLAEY- SKOGAFOSS - SELJALANDSFOSS

200 km

Today we first cross the huge lava field Eldhraun and reach the southernmost town in Iceland, Vík in Myrdalur, the only coastal town without a harbour. A very special nature experience is the visit to Dyrhólaey. From here we have a unique view of the black lava beach, which is considered one of the 10 most beautiful beaches in the world. The rock gate and its surroundings are an Eldorado for ornithologists. The popular puffins also live here during the breeding season (end of May to end of August). The drive continues along the south coast. We stop at Skógafoss waterfall, one of the most beautiful of its kind in Iceland, and Seljalandsfoss, whose veil of water can also be viewed from behind. Overnight stay in Selfoss.

DAY 12: GULLFOSS - GEYSIR - THINGEVLLIR

200 km

Iceland's most famous sights are on the programme: The waterfall Gullfoss, the "Golden Waterfall", which cascades down into a 2.5 km long gorge - a fascinating natural spectacle! Not far away is the thermal area Haukadalur, where we find, among other things, the fountain Strokkur ("butter churn"), which shoots up to 20 m every 10-15 min. We also explore the area around the country's largest inland lake in the national park of the same name, Thingvellir (UNESCO World Heritage Site). The world's first democratic parliament was founded here. The plain lies in a geologically very interesting area: here is the place where the fractures of the drifting apart of the American and Eurasian continental plates can be clearly seen. Return to Reykjavik in the afternoon.

DAY 13: FREE TIME/ MOTORBIKE DROP-OFF

We can use the morning to take a look at the capital Reykjavik with its highlights such as the Hallgrimskirkja and the Harpa concert hall, before we drop off the motorbikes in the afternoon and enjoy our last evening in Iceland.

DAY 14: DEPARTURE

Even the most beautiful tour comes to an end. In the morning a bus picks us up at the hotel and takes us to Keflavik airport. From there we fly back home with many beautiful memories in our luggage. End of the tour.
We expressly reserve the right to make changes to the daily schedule and routes due to weather and road conditions or other unforeseen influences.

A frank word among bikers

We do not do a driving course on our trip, but a challenging and varied motorbike tour. On guided motorbike tours with your own motorbike, riders and passengers from different countries of origin and with different motorbikes meet for a joint trip. As different as the participants are, as different will usually be the motorbikes, which makes for a fun and interesting trip.

As with all group activities, a certain team spirit and a certain adaptation of the individual to the group is necessary for these tours. If you let yourself go, you will certainly "experience" a great tour, meet new friends and have a lot of fun, because the shared experience of driving dynamics and the magic of curves in a charming landscape unites people. And on this trip, the focus is on motorcycling in the unique and sensational landscape.
