Description

Hardly any other country in Europe is as misjudged as Albania. Isolated from the rest of the world for many years by the communist regime, the Albanians have caught up very quickly since the opening and the country has undergone an unbelievably sympathetic transformation. But a motorbike tour to the "Land of the Skipetars" is still a small adventure...

From a motorcyclist's point of view, Albania has an incredible amount to offer, not only on gravel. Great curves in the Albanian Alps on one side and the picturesque coastal road on the Adriatic Sea on the other. And there are also plenty of new asphalt roads in between to "experience" on this trip.

Tour dates:
From/to Graz approx. 3,600 km. Medium-high difficulty, incl. motorway stages, city crossings and village roads. Generally roads of different quality levels and with possible shortcomings, sometimes also with potholes, short sections without asphalt are possible. Furthermore, several mountain crossings with numerous curves and partly steep, narrow serpentines. Not suitable for beginners or riders with little experience in alpine terrain.

Day 4: Day trip Koman Reservoir

270 km

Good weather is the trump card today, because the trip with the "Koman Reservoir Ferry" is on the agenda. The last few kilometres before the ferry are bumpy, but rideable on any road bike. Between high rock faces we head towards the hinterland and then back to Shkodra on great roads.

A frank word among bikers

On guided motorbike tours with your own motorbike, riders and passengers from different countries of origin and with different motorbikes meet for a joint trip. As different as the participants are, as different will usually be the motorbikes, which makes for a fun and interesting trip. As with all group activities, a certain team spirit and adaptation of the individual to the group is necessary on these trips so that everyone can enjoy the trip and their motorbike holiday.
