Description

It's an open secret:
Slovenia has some of the most beautiful gravel roads in Europe!

And many of these gravel roads are just waiting to be explored by adventurous motorcyclists. Isn't that what we like to do?

The starting point of this tour is near Graz in southern Austria, easy to reach and not far from the border with Slovenia. From there we start our journey southwards and enjoy 5 days travelling along deep green forests and fertile valleys, seeing mighty peaks, crystal-clear lakes, the mysterious karst world and indulging in the culinary delights of the traditional modern cuisine. We spend 4 nights in the same hotel in the Postojna area and explore the immediate - and wider - surroundings without luggage.

Tour dates:

From/to Graz approx. 1,000 km, of which approx. 70 % paved and approx. 30 % unpaved roads. Difficulty level: easy to medium, suitable for enduro beginners with plenty of experience on tarmac, especially on narrow, winding mountain roads.

Tour Characteristics:
The tour is suitable for all those riders who have good control of their touring Enduro on narrow and steep mountain roads and now want to gain their first experience on gravel roads. Touring enduro bikes of all sizes are welcome on this tour. The use of at least all-round tyres suitable for road and off-road use is a prerequisite, especially in wet conditions, more off-road-oriented tyres are an enormous advantage. This tour is not suitable for road motorbikes and enduro bikes with purely asphalt tyres!

Our exclusive travel programme

Day 1: Graz (AT) - Postojna area (SLO)

240 km

Meeting at the agreed starting point near Graz. After getting to know each other briefly, we set off on our "Taster tour for enduro travellers in Slovenia". In Austria we stay on tarmac, shortly after the border we switch to gravel for the first time and enjoy a mix of smaller and larger side roads and beautiful gravel paths until we arrive at the hotel.
Check-in and overnight stay for 4 nights in the same hotel in the Postojna area.

Days 2, 3 and 4:
Rallies in southern Slovenia with
Short visit to Croatia

The advantage of staying several nights in the same hotel:

You don't have to pack every day and can leave your luggage in your room. So we start our motorbikes and spend the next 3 days exploring a variety of winding, small and little-used tarmac roads and of course lots of great gravel roads, crossing some of the wildest and most remote regions of Slovenia. We will also make a short visit to neighbouring Croatia, where there are also great roads in the border region. Incidentally, our overnight stop is famous worldwide for its extraordinary
Grotto reached: On request, we can also visit the Adelsberg Grotto (the second largest stalactite cave in the world).

Day 5: Postojna - Graz area

240 km

The last day's ride is a real challenge and once again showcases the beauty and diversity of the Slovenian landscape and its roads. Small, winding tarmac roads, great gravel roads and a few kilometres of well-maintained mountain passes in between. An exciting mix to round off a great and beginner-friendly Slovenia gravel tour! In the late afternoon we arrive back at the
Starting point of the journey near Graz. Unfortunately, it's time to say goodbye here, with many wonderful memories in our luggage, we make our way home again. End of the tour.

A frank word among bikers

On guided motorbike tours with your own motorbike, riders and passengers from different countries of origin and with different motorbikes meet for a joint trip. As different as the participants are, as different will usually be the motorbikes, which makes for a fun and interesting trip. As with all group activities, a certain team spirit and adaptation of the individual to the group is necessary on these trips so that everyone can enjoy the trip and their motorbike holiday.
