Description
Travelling is deadly...for prejudices! Mark Twain's proverb applies not only to Romania, but also to motorbikes with electric drives.
Who hasn't heard of the Carpathians? Of the local bears, the fun-loving shepherds and the almost untouched nature? A paradise where "wolf and bear" say goodnight to each other and where everything, it seems, has found its place and its silence... You should only immerse yourself in this world if you don't disturb this delicate balance...
How is that supposed to work? With electric enduro bikes! We invite you to a completely new motorbike experience through this very special landscape: With the light and at the same time powerful Sur-Ron Ultra Bees you can cycle for 5 - 7 hours a day through the Romanian Western Carpathians and their foothills and experience this little paradise up close on two wheels.
Yours local guides will ensure that you drive some of the most beautiful gravel roads, the chefs in the restaurants and hotels that you can enjoy the local specialities, and the support vehicle that there is always enough "fuel" for your Electric Enduros is available. All you need to bring is your motorbike gear and a good mood - we'll take care of everything else!
The motorbikes: The "Sur-Ron Ultra Bee" electric motorbikes provided are ideal for use on the gravel tracks and paths in the forests and meadows of Transylvania. They weigh only around 85 kg (incl. battery), the motor delivers up to 12.5 KW peak power (~ 17 hp) with a massive torque of 400 Nm in the strongest of the 3 driving modes. The standard traction control naturally helps to keep this power in check. With this performance data, the "Ultra Bee" also accelerates from 0 to 50 km/h in an ultra-fast 2.3 seconds, with a maximum speed of over
90 km/h, enough to keep up with normal road traffic. The "Ultra Bee" is also ultra easy to ride and suitable for all types of enduro riders: From beginners and connoisseurs to full professionals. The only legal requirement for taking part in the tour is an A1 driving licence.

Our exclusive travel programme
Day 1: Travelling to Romania
Day 2: Cluj - Baisoara
110 km
After picking up the electric motorbikes and a detailed briefing on "your" Sur-Ron Ultra Bee, you say goodbye to the big city and after a short ride on tarmac you reach the first gravel road. We head towards the Apuseni Mountains, where the cultural highlight of the day is the fortress in Lita. Built in the 14th century, it was one of the most important medieval castles in the country and of great economic and military importance. The region has a strong Hungarian influence, so we will be enjoying a typical local speciality for lunch: Goulash! Later in the afternoon, you will reach your destination for the day, the small ski resort of Baisoara. Hotel accommodation for 2 nights in Baisoara.
65 % unpaved roads, 35 % paved roads.
Day 3: Rally in the Apuseni Mountains
100 km
You will spend the whole day today in the Apuseni Mountains. Although they are neither as high nor as famous as their "southern brothers", there is something special about the Romanian Western Carpathians: almost untouched coniferous forests and "summer villages". And exciting and breathtaking views. In the afternoon, you will return to your top-class guesthouse for a delicious dinner and your second night in Baisoara.
65 % unpaved roads, 35 % paved roads.
Day 4: Baisoara - Salicea
130 km
You leave Baisoara and make your way back towards the Transylvanian hills. Your guide will lead you through green spruce and beech forests to a completely different-looking region. For lunch, you will enjoy a delicious picnic before arriving in the small village of Salicea in the afternoon. Here you will also stay in your accommodation for 2 nights, again in a "top-class family guesthouse"
70 % unpaved roads, 30 % paved roads.
Day 5: Crit - Turda rally
90 km
Head south along field and gravel paths. A relatively sparsely populated area awaits you, where you are more likely to see deer, hares or foxes than people. You will reach the medieval town of Turda (German: Thorenburg) at lunchtime. Turda is particularly famous for its huge salt mine, one of Romania's most popular sights. After visiting this extraordinary salt mine, you will enjoy lunch in a speciality restaurant. In the afternoon you will return to Salicea, where you will have some time to relax in the swimming pool of the Pensiunea. At the last dinner together, you can toast to the end of this special "electric enduro tour" in a convivial atmosphere and review the experiences you have had with "your" Sur-Ron Ultra Bee.
65 % unpaved roads, 35 % paved roads.
Day 6: Journey home
Unfortunately, it's time to say goodbye to your new Romanian friends. With lots of wonderful memories in your luggage, you're making your way home again. We hope that you were so enthusiastic about your "electric enduro tour" in the Apuseni Mountains that you will come back for another tour soon. Airport transfer, end of the trip.
