Description

As one of the most diverse countries in the world, Morocco is a paradise for motorbike tours. Experience oriental flair, great roads, interesting people and a fascinating culture with us. This tour opens up the Orient to us with many experiences and adventures. Morocco knows how to cast a spell over motorbike travellers.

Pilot Tour 07.11. - 21.11.2024:
This pilot tour "Travelling to Morocco on an enduro bike" is a
Sightseeing tour for future trips offered by us. The tour was carefully prepared and planned "from the office" and travelled by our team in sections, but not in its entirety. Short-term "surprises", as well as changes in the course of the tour, including additional kilometres and longer driving days, are possible and do not constitute a defect or reason for a reduction in the trip.

Our tarmac-only tour "Morocco - Pearl of the Mahgreb" takes place at the same time. Both groups stay in the same hotels and use the same support vehicle, the city tours and sightseeing are organised together.

Our exclusive travel programme

Day 1: Arrival in Málaga

Arrival at the hotel near Málaga. Pick up the motorbikes and dinner together.

Day 2: Málaga - Tarifa - Tangier

160 km

The crossing to Morocco is on the programme. We take the ferry from Tarifa to Tangier. Our luggage will be taken by a van from the hotel to the harbour entrance, where we will pick it up and transport it ourselves to the escort vehicle behind the Moroccan border. After entering the country, we are met by our German-speaking tour guide and transferred to the hotel. We use the rest of the day to explore the lively harbour city at the crossroads of continents and cultures.

Day 3: Tangier - Meknès

280 km

Start of the grand tour through Morocco. Together with the support vehicle and the tour guide, we head to the royal capital of Meknès. The picturesque location alone gives the city an extraordinary charm. Particularly impressive are the city walls with the Bab el Mansour, one of the most elaborate city gates in Morocco, and the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail, which is also decorated with magnificent stucco and mosaic work.

Day 4: Meknès - Rabat - Casablanca

300 km

We leave Meknès and first reach Rabat, the country's capital. The largest mosque in the Islamic world was to be built here in the 12th century. The unfinished building is still remembered today by the Hassan Tower. We then travel along the coast to Casablanca, the country's largest city, with the imposing Hassan II Mosque, which is the fifth largest place of worship in the Islamic world. The day ends with a cosy dinner at Rick's Café, famous from the Hollywood classic "Casablanca" with Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergmann.

Day 5: Casablanca - Marrakech

250 km

Drive to Marrakech, where we set up camp for two nights. The highlight of the day, and for some the highlight of the whole trip, is the evening excursion to Djemaa el Fna, the place of the jugglers, with storytellers and snake charmers.

Day 6: Marrakech

Today is at leisure. Those who wish can join us on a half-day city tour, always with the backdrop of the High Atlas Mountains. We can use the time for individual sightseeing, shopping or relaxation. Our tour guide and the support vehicle will of course also be at our disposal today.

Day 7: Marrakech - Boumalne - Dadés

330 km

We leave Marrakech and drive along one of the most scenic routes in Morocco to the entrance to the Dades Valley. The route leads through the Haouz plain and over the 2,260 m high Tizi n'Tichka Pass, past the fortress village of Ait Benhaddou and along the road of the "1,000 Kasbahs". (F/A)

Day 8: Dades Valley - Todra Gorge - Erfoud

290 km

After a detour to the world-famous hairpin bends in the Dades Valley, we continue to the impressive Todra Gorge. The steep rock faces reach a height of 300 metres in places. You will spend the night on the edge of the desert in Erfoud.

Day 9: Erfoud - Merzouga

100 km

The desert is calling: we arrive at the largest and highest sand dunes in Morocco, the dunes of Erg Chebbi near Merzouga. We spend the night in a tented camp on the edge of the desert. Here there is the possibility of a camel ride and dune excursion (optional).

Day 10: Merzouga - Midelt

270 km

We are impressed by the sunrise in the desert and then make our way northwards: The route continues through the Ziz Gorge and the barren mountains of the Atlas to the mining town of Midelt, where we spend another night in Berberland at 1,500 metres above sea level, always with a view of the High Atlas. High Atlas.

Day 11: Midelt - Fez

200 km

Drive through the wild and romantic mountain world of the Middle and High Atlas with its cedar forests. Fès is the oldest and "most royal" of the 4 royal cities, as well as the spiritual, religious and artisan centre of Morocco. During the tour, we experience the sights and monuments inside and outside the medina in all their splendour.

Day 12: Fez - Chefchauen

210 km

We enjoy the scenic drive to Chefchaouen, also known as the "blue city" due to its painted houses. Picturesquely situated on the Riff Mountains, the town invites you to stroll and linger.

Day 13: Chefchauen - Tangier

140 km

The last stage in Morocco takes us back to Tangier, where we spend the last night on the African continent.

Day 14: Tangier - Málaga

150 km

We say goodbye to our Moroccan team at the entrance to Tangier harbour and pick up our luggage for the return journey by ferry to Tarifa in Spain, where the luggage vehicle is again waiting for us outside the harbour area. After arriving at the hotel, we pack our bags for the journey home and then hand over the motorbikes for the return journey. We round off our wonderful trip with a final dinner together on the Costa del Sol.

Day 15: Departure

Return flight home with many wonderful memories in your luggage. End of the journey. (F)

Conditions of travel

Minimum number of participants: 12 persons. If the minimum number of participants is not reached, the tour operator reserves the right to cancel the tour up to 4 weeks before the start of the tour.

Special notes

Travel insurance with foreign health insurance incl. return service (ambulance jet or transport home) and accident insurance is a prerequisite for participation in the tour. We recommend taking out the travel insurance "Travel Protection with Cancellation ALL RISK MED" with Allianz Global Assistance. This includes the highest level of travel protection, e.g.: cancellation is also covered for personal and provable reasons! Also included are a foreign liability insurance, a foreign health insurance, an accident insurance with coverage of rescue costs (incl. helicopter), as well as an extra return trip or ambulance jet in case of medically necessary reasons OR after 3 days of hospitalisation.

In addition, a "motor vehicle home collection insurance" (e.g.: ADAC or ÖAMTC Schutzbrief) is also required for all motorbikes. The motorbikes must be in perfect technical condition (tyres!) before departure. Technical assistance or spare parts service in case of breakdowns or damage is only possible to a limited extent on site. In the worst case, a breakdown can result in the participant having to abandon the tour and return home independently.

The green insurance card with country code for Morocco must be carried. Without this card, border insurance must be taken out when entering the country

A frank word among bikers

On guided motorbike tours with your own motorbike, riders and passengers from different countries of origin and with different motorbikes meet for a joint trip. As different as the participants are, as different will usually be the motorbikes, which makes for a fun and interesting trip. As with all group activities, a certain team spirit and adaptation of the individual to the group is necessary on these trips so that everyone can enjoy the trip and their motorbike holiday.

The hotels and accommodation on this trip have been chosen with great care and are of a good or higher standard in Morocco. However, please remember that we are on the African continent. It is therefore possible that not every hotel along the route will be what you are used to as a European. Now and then it may be necessary to exercise a little tolerance. Special consideration was given to parking facilities and security for our motorbikes when choosing a hotel.

Tour charactaristics

The tour is suitable for all those riders who have already gained some experience on narrow, winding gravel roads and dirt tracks and have good control of their touring enduro off-road. Touring enduro bikes of all sizes with a minimum range of 250 km are welcome on this tour. To take part, all-terrain tyres that also grip well on loose gravel are required.
This tour is not suitable for road motorbikes and enduro bikes with asphalt tyres only! It would be possible to take a passenger on the motorbike, but this is not recommended. Passengers naturally have the option of travelling the day's stages in the accompanying coach.
